What's it worth............

Hey All,

Thinking about getting out of Rovering for a while. My daughter starts college in the fall and am trying to cut back expenses.

2004 Bonatti Gray Discovery II SE
60,000 miles
Cold weather pkg. plus all the other standard accessories.
Rovertym Front Bumper
9500 lbs winch
3 hella 4000 offroad lights
Rovertym weld-on diff guards
Slickrock sliders
Old Man Emu lift with super heavy duty springs - 2 1/2 years old
Toyo Mt 265-75-16
SD rack modifed to fit RTT
Camping Labs 55 x 94 Roof Top Tent - 1 year old
Cobra 75 WX ST CB

Need the 60,000 miles service, new tires next year, the dash is curling and the paint on the hood is peeling. Other than these items everything is in working order.

Here is a pitcure from last summer. Of course the stickers would be removed.
Let me know your thoughts on what you think it's worth.

Thanks,

David

In general, I've found that when trying to sell a vehicle, unless its a special edition, forums and craigslist are the worst places to go to, as everyone is looking for a deal and generally there is a large supply.

Let me start of by saying you have a beautiful rig. You will likely get more the closer it is to stock and will probably be able to make some coin on selling some of the mods(not all but some at least).

I've seen stock/lightly modded rigs with the same mileage as modified rigs go for far more than the modded rigs. We had an old saying when I used to own a shop, you modify because you are unhappy with stock performance, you need better than stock performance if you abuse your car. Same is true here, people will know you wheel/overland with all those mods and generally reduce the price from there.

Either way best of luck with the sale, if you decide to remove some of the mods, I would gladly take a bunch of your hands

The Dweb valuation is probably $10,000 as it sits with the mods. I would bet if you took the mods off and sold them, you could get $14,000 for the truck on the regular market. If you posted it on the forums such as here as-is and waited, you might get a bit more for it.

High quality modifications and a clean vehicle have done well here. See what happens.

I actually might have a buyer for you - need location. . .

Curious as to why the dash is already curling? I've had rover get a ton of sun and have never really had an issue with the dash curling.

I can personally vouch for the truck and its owner. He meticulously maintains his vehicles, and this truck is in tip top shape.

He´s outside of Chicago, IL

Thanks for all the kind word guys. I know Dweb all to well,
that's why I decided to post the question here. I thought
I'd get better idea of it's true value.

Really don't want to get rid of my baby but the thought has
crossed my mind more than once.

Now I need to sit down and figure out what I need to do.

Thanks for your help.

Not sure. The truck did come from AZ

It started showing up just after the factory warranty was up and LR wouldn't cover it under the certified warranty.

If anyone has any ideas on how I can fix this myself. I'm all ears.

I know Atlantic British makes a nice trim piece that works for the DI, not sure about the DII. You need a right angle driver to install the item, and it actually looks quite nice.
Call Eric Riston at AB to inquire about the trim item.

Hope that helps and GREAT TRUCK!!!!

I love the curled dash in my 94 disco and would never fix it...it keeps pens from rolling down next to the windsheild. :D
