(devils advocate here): If it is stolen or shady in aany way, why does he have a repair manual for it for sale also ??
It does seem suspicious to be pating out such a nice appearing vehicle.
Maybe its a bad divorce and he selling off her vehicle..piece by piece..:Wow1:

Maybe not stolen but it could be that either the seller is trying to sell a financed vehicle without the bank's permission, or maybe the original owner (who financed the vehicle and thus didn't have the title) owed money to someone, so he "gave" that person his vehicle for the seller to sell off piece by piece to pay back the seller.

Either way it's pretty shady.

So again I asked for the VIN as I told hom I wasn't going to shell out $1k (including shipping cost) for a motor without data/numbers. For example smog numbers. I stated his description is great but, how credible is it. Here's his response:

yah only 1k i could sell this engine for 4k i dont need to sell it i dont need the money iam selling cheap as hell so hopefully some body that really needs it can use it in todays ecconemy there are 26 people that have it on there watch list and i have got over a dozen e-mails on it so if you want to buy it buy it if not thats you decition

Well, he's right. There are many of us sitting on stuff we don't really need to sell but sure would be nice to have the cash. On a side not if your looking for a motor for your buggy pm me. I have a well maintained high mileage unit that might work. As for this guy the benefit of the doubt is good with our suspicions lurking below the surface. Kind of like the ccw crowd where we walk into a mall or bank and our normal green or yellow jumps to orange.

With responses like that (and the complete inability to communicate in proper english) I would NOT deal with that guy.
Maybe waste his time doing some tire-kicking, but I wouldn't actually give him any of my money. :D

If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is!

Third party buyer in good faith only gives you limited protection under the law.

I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole. Something is amiss.

My buggy is my truck and is a DD. I only made that up to see if the seller would indulge the VIN #.
