I'm building up a sankey trailer to tow behind my D2. Anyone know of any adapters stateside that will allow the 5 on 120 D2 wheels to be fitted to the 5 on 6.5 trailer hubs?

thanks

There are no off the shelf solutions. I searched for one when I had a Sankey. Best option is to buy a trailer axle in 5x4.75 which is essentially 5x120. Then if you need a spacer to make the axle hub centric, H&R makes them. 5x120 is a common BMW pattern. You just need to be careful about center bore size if you have hub centric wheels.

The D2 is lug centric.

You need an adapter to go from 5 on 6.5 to 5 on 120, straight forward.

You'll need to supply the Land Rover wheel studs to be pressed into the adapter.

Make sure the people who make them know the size of the studs on the Sankey, 16mm I think, and the size of the lug nuts.

Only issue may be the interior diameter of the D2 rims, the adapter needs to fit into the back well.

Ive decided to run aftermarket steel wheels for D1 and 265/75 16 on it. I will post pictures when finished. Bill at rovertym is doing some fab work on it now. He is extending the tounge about 6 inches and moving the brake cylinder / lunette to the inside of the tounge as well as fixing up a few other things. I bought it in VA with hardly any rust.

I'll post pics when its done.
