Where are all the Hummer portals going?

OK, so I've seen portal conversion threads using Portal Tek portals, Pinz portals, Volvo portals, Unimog portals, etc.

And I know that surplus US military HMMWVs cannot be sold as complete vehicles, but the cut up trucks have to be going somewhere, right?

Why is there not a glut of HMMWV portals sitting aroung somewhere waiting for you custom vehicle mod'ers to put them under your trucks?

Inquiring minds want to know...

I think H1 portals are relatively cheap. I'm sure you can find them if you want to build up axles. If you're serious, PM me and I'll give you a lead.

Just a thought... H1's are ifs and irs with the disc brakes being inboard.It may not be easy to convert a regular axle to H1 portals and have proper brakes.
