Which battery setup?

The cheap battery that my truck came with is on its last legs and I need to get something decent in my truck for the rest of winter.

Right now my Tacoma is pretty much stock. This year, I plan on adding a winch and some lights and a fridge for longer trips. I'm looking at two different routes and would like opinions or experiences as I'm not sure which way to go.

1. Buy an optima red right now and drop it in the truck. At a later date, add a yellow plus the necessary electronics. Pro: redundancy with the second battery for starting. Con: more expensive setup, more complicated and more work to install, in doing research I'm actually reading that a lot of people are having problems with the optimas.

2. Buy an Odyssey. Pro: much simpler setup, seems to be much better battery in terms of life and technology. Con: still only a single battery, if it dies, no start (maybe carry a portable battery pack for backup) however I seldom travel alone anyway, just carry cables.

Diehard Platinum are apparently rebadged Odyssey's and carried at Green & Ross but they say they don't have one to fit my vehicle.

Option 3: buy the sears die hard platinum (odyssey) now and add a solar system to run the fridge later. I just finished my dual batteries and if I had to do it again I would go this route for the ability to recharge indefinitely.
