Couple pictures from this weekend. And no, I don't have any picutres of the wolf. We ran after the herd while still in our boxers. :p

After the wolf ran up the hill, we went back to camp and grabbed the video camera and went back and hid in the trees about 25 yards from the elk for a half hour waiting for the wolf to come back. No luck.

That is amazing! I had no idea AZ was that green. The exact opposite of what I think of when I think of Arizona.

...it's not green in AZ - Seth is a wizard with PhotoShop. In reality, he has added the greenery, the animals, and the water to pic's similar to the one below:

You know how lucky you are to have seen that wolf!! Damn.... Hopefully before I die I'll see the same thing. There are not many left in that area too. Damn...

Tell me about it man. When we first got there all we kept saying was how cool it would be to see a Mexican Gray.

Incredible! And to see it make a kill too.

With your luck, I would recommend camping near the Mexico border and saying "here kitty, kitty, kitty"

It's funny you say that... as we were leaving my buddy pretty much said the same thing about the jaguars.

You aren't alone. Most people only think desert when they think of AZ. Actually, AZ is probably the second most diverse state in the country behind California. And the only reason Cali is so diverse is because of it's size and because it stretches north to south. But AZ's diversity is probably more compacted. All the different landscapes are so close to each other. You can be surrounded by Saguaro cactus, drive 30 minutes up the road and be surrounded by pine trees. It really is an awesome place.

by the way, did ya hook up anything at Pacheta or reservation???

We actually didn't fish a whole lot. At Pacheta we pulled in a total of 4 browns, three on wet flies and one on dry. They weren't really top feeding, I think it was too warm.

We went up to Reservation to get our permits, but didn't even bring our poles. It was really crowded. All the boats were rented and there was tons of people on the shore.

We spent most of our time just sitting around doing nothing and stuffing our faces. We also did some scouting in unit 1 because my buddy got drawn for elk there in October.

:coffee: Excellent area for elk. A buddy of mine just videoed 3- 7 pt bulls last weekend. Work the flats early am into the timber.
