Why don't we see more Ford Ranger builds

I was kicking it around so I went to build a Ranger. Did they drop the extended cab and now only do a four door truck? That's a potential show stopper if so. I don't need seating for more than 2 but I do need 6 feet of bed without a battleship wheel base. The point of a small(er) truck is to fit in a city and on a trail. Don't people who buy truck still sleep in the back or carry stuff?
Apparently not. We are all supposed to drive our "trucks" to the mall with the kids in the back seat. If I had kids to haul I'd buy a car or SUV, they are much better for that. This is one of my pet peeves. BTW I have a 2020 Ranger with the 6' box and its not quite long enough either. I remember when small trucks all (or most) had a 7' bed option. That would be great for camping.

Right. I'm old enough to remember a regular cab 7 foot bed small truck. I guess there just isn't as much fleet sales and people like me that like the (although really only slightly) smaller footprint in a vehicle with utility. If I was in the market it's possible to build an F150 or F250 XL Supercab that come in at ~$50k to do what I want and you get a V8 in the deal and 3.73 or even 4.30 gears with a locker, too. So obviously that must be where most of my cheap skate peers do.

Despite the downsides of the massive F250 I have zero interests in mid-size trucks these days. It probably helps I have a 2wd Toyota with a 7' bed🤣

Yeah, I think the Ranger Supercab is no more. And now the Tacoma Access cab doesn't even have back doors. Huh? So how am I supposed to 'Access' the access cab? not that it's an issue here since they only sell Tacoma double cabs here. No extended cabs except for the Nissan Frontier PRO which is 52K.

I think Toyota dropped Access Cab and went back to the XtraCab like the 84-04 trucks had. Which for me was fine, I owned a 1996 Ranger (pre-rear door) Super Cab first, followed by the 1991 Toyota XtraCab that preceded the 2008 Access I own now. I didn't need the rear seats on any of them (and they're all really just jump seats that I've always taken out anyway). But I'm tall enough that a regular cab was just big enough for legs and head room but having space to recline on long road trips and later for a dog is a benefit. Those rear suicide doors weren't a high priority when I went from the '91 to the '08 but I have really grown to love them. So losing that option is a serious bummer but I have and could again live without them if necessary. A 6' bed and reasonable wheelbase are more important to me.

It is awesome. Either to sleep in or to play pack mule alongside my wife's Bronco. You can get a lot of gear in a 7' bed with a topper... you can't get many butts in the standard cab tho.

My dd is a 6.5' bed crew cab F-150, it is extremely clumsy by comparison.

I was going to replace my 2002 SuperCab Ranger with 300K miles on it with a 2025 Ranger. Unfortunately, Ford would not build a SuperCab for me. I ended up getting a new Bronco. I will need to learn how to reduce the size of stuff I take on my off-road adventures. With the back seat out, The Bronco does have a 6 ft space in the back, but I am missing the extra space behind the seats I have in my Ranger.

If Ford would still offer a SuperCab Ranger I would be building another Ranger for off-road adventures. The 02 Ranger is running so well I decided to keep it too and it will do the rougher duty trips.

I was at the Expo also. I just had to walk across the street to attend though.

Something else - I *think* a lot of the Bronco stuff bolts on to the Ranger, which means options for the HD D44 front axles, HD front axle shafts and D60 rear axles and all the other stuff that goes along with it. I really liked my 2019....
Sadly not much "bolts on" from the Bronco. I've found this out after a year of ownership. However you can use the front differential out of the Bronco for 4.70:1 gearing and a front e-locker. However you do need to have custom CVs made since the Bronco frame is a bit wider to accommodate the V6 powertrains.

While I like the idea of the new Bronco, theres a reason the first Blazer was but of the C/K platform, and why Bronco followed suit putting the Bronco on the F150 platform back in '78.

I was really hoping both Chevy and Ford would do the same in these most recent iterations of Blazer and Bronco - just build them off the respective truck platforms -as that way the most stuff possible is swappable.

Alas, alak, no such luck.
