Ahh very cool!!! Those are some great photos too! Not sure about the sign, that is a little odd. The town of Hachita is a little strange, and I have spent little time there. I have spent much more time roaming the areas around there than in town. I hope Von Petrol posts up some pics of his CD ride... That is something I have been wanting to do for a long time now.

I really enjoy this area as well. All of the above pictures do good justice to the area and its beauty; thanks for sharing. When it rains on these plains, the roads become treacherous and can strand visitors for days. The winds in the area can create blinding dust storms that are equally hindering. Being remote and unpopulated, the drug flow from Mexico here thrives and brings danger to all that travel lower Hidalgo and Luna Counties. It is advised by authorities in the area to carry protection and come well prepared.

Of course the precarious is the draw.
