Will Sun Lite Pop-up Truck Campers hold up off road?

Looking at a 2006 Sun Lite Pop-up Camper that's in great condition, single owner for around $4,500 for my 2004 Tundra. Seems like a good deal but there really isn't much info on these aside from the fact they're built out of a plywood frame which is slightly worrying. I'm wondering if I'd be able to re-inforce the eyebolts to ensure this thing wont rattle loose down washboard roads. We live in the SouthWest and to say the least, we're often on really rough road. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It won't hold up like a welded aluminum frame. But, it'll probably be fine on gravel/washboard roads.

If you are going rock crawling, which I doubt since you have a Tundra, it would not hold up.

For modest "off-roading" just plan to go slow. Even my 800lb 4WC slows me down considerably off-road. It changes the way the truck handles obstacles for sure. Nothing like my old hard-sided Lance or even my pop top Hallmark, those were much heavier and very unsettling off road.

there are hundreds if not thousands of truck campers, camp trailers and motor homes made out of wood traveling the southwest.
like ANY vehicle off road , you need to be somewhat diligent in keeping things tied down tight and secure regardless of what
they are made of. as noted above , your truck will probably never get airborne.
buy what you like and make it yours.
