winch plug extension

So... I just installed my M8000 on my Shrock bumper of my 2k5 Frontier.

Only took an hour, but I had a hoist and a mechanic at our shop there to help.

Now it appears as though it's impossible to access the solenoid box without an extension... So I am going to have to remove the bumper again to install an extension. :smilies27 Man I am dreading that!

Or is there a trick to hooking it up without an extension? I can't even get my hand in there behind the winch to pull the plug cover off the solenoid box. ARGH! :Wow1:

nevermind that now... Popped the hood, looked down in between the radiator and grill... Looky there! There's a solenoid box! It's a tight fit for a grown man's hands, but it worked!

Tensioned the rope on! :wings:

You could look into a wireless remote, then there's no need to plug in the wired remote when you need the winch.

Wireless is a great idea - another option might be to wire in an in-cab winch controller. I had one in my Jeep, and from the time I installed it, I never used the pendant remote again.
