Winch questions

Looks like you guys have the wire vs synthetic thing down. I was just about to leave a comment regarding this.

Like they said, for work/utility situations, you'll want wire rope.

Let me know if you've got any questions about any of the WARN product, too.

Warn 8274 is certainly a good winch (I have 3) but I'd still recommend worm drive for the intended use because they are slower and therefore safer.
When I was young and dumb I dragged a lot of logs with my first 8274 and it did ok, it was just faster than ideal for the use.
I started using a snatch block most of the time even when I didn't need to, just to slow it down.

Great advice everyone. I guess wire rope will stay on the winch I get. I was just trying to lighten it up a bit by going synthetic.

As for future plans, I want to do something sort of like this, but with not as much lift.
