Using WiFi hotspots while traveling is a calculated risk. It's relatively easy for black hats to capture personal information, add malware and cause mischief during your visits to unfamiliar networks. I've recently started using a VPN service much more. You just don't know what's happening in coffee shops, etc.

I also like being able to be "in England" for certain TV shows... :)
