So after our big Arizona storms this past week we decided to spend the weekend taking it all in. It snowed above about 4000ft Friday night so we got up Saturday morning and headed up to the small town of Oracle to see the snow. There was probably about 5" on the ground.
This is a view of the Guillero Mtns. across the San Pedro Valley.
And back toward the Catalina Mtns.
We took a short forest service road out of the upper end of Oracle where the snow was the heaviest.
So that was it for snow but Sunday we headed out to Willow Springs Ranch and enjoyed some wet desert. It has been a while since we have had much rain here.
This is called Tunnel Ranch, behind the ranch house there is a tunnel cut into the cliffside that is damned up and full of cold clear water all the time. From what I understand this used to be a cavalry outpost.
Another view of the Guillero's.
Lunchtime, all of the water holes that have been dry for months were all completely full after this storm!
