Would like to see some low profile recovery points

I drive an '09 Tacoma usually towing a teardrop. I would like to attach some recovery points to the front but do not think a full plate bumper is needed, not to mention I would like the truck to remain somewhat of a low profile. I am not rock crawling or mudding, I just take the teardrop a little off the beaten path.

I am just curious to see what other people have set up for recovery points without plate bumpers. In a perfect world I would have a reinforced avid light bar (https://avidoffroad.infusionsoft.com/app/storeFront/showProductDetail?productId=3) though I KNOW its not anywhere near strong enough to mount recovery points.

Have you looked into stock recovery points from an 80-series or 100-series land cruiser? I`ll bet they would bolt right up to your frame

I solved that problem by mounting up a Hidden Hitch front receiver mount. The factory hook wasn't that good and it was also hard to access. On the Tundras this brand tucks up the nicest of any others offered, though I've not seen one on a Tacoma so you'd have to do some reasearch there. Also the front receiver mount helps protect the bottom of the radiator which is a bit vulnerable on a Tundybird.

Bolt on bumpers for DC Tundras just don't exist and I just don't want to mess around with a custom bumper or for that matter want to have a winch mounted all the time. I like the stealth "work truck" look and don't really want to add any extra weight other than when it's needed. When you travel for work any savings in gas expenditures makes a big difference. In addition I want to be able to have the option of mounting a winch either fore or aft depending on what recovery situation I find myself in.
