I think my hi lift mount would work as a gun mount as well... take a look at the pick.

So if you go to any hardware store, you can get 3" pipe hangers with threaded mounts.
I would recommend buying four of them and creating a platform with flat aluminum and angle brackets. That way you can store your weapon cased above the view of your rear view mirror and out the way.

Just a thought.

Google Springtail Solutions. They make custom racks that you can put Molle gear on and they have a pic that shows a FJ with a gun rack. Perhaps they can make something for you.

IIRC there is a bunch of stuff at Cabela's.

I'm thinking about something that stands up vertically (muzzle up) between the front seats (but behind the shifters).

Don't have a center console in the YJ though - might not be a good place if you have a center console.
