Chrysler, in partnership with NHTSA, announced a recall of 288,000 Jeep Wranglers because of a potential brake fluid leak. The model years affected are 2006 through 2010. The problem arises when the front wheel well liner rubs on the brake line, eventually wearing a hole that allows brake fluid to escape.
The 2010 Wrangler was involved in a recall earlier this year to fix a second, unrelated, problem with the brakes.
Chrysler will notify owners when to contact the dealer for an appointment to check the brakes.
