Car and Driver compared a Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon with the Mercedes G550 Gelandewagen. Since the comparison test was subtitled "The Smart Money," you can guess which vehicle got the win.

interesting, but exactly as you expect. The G is a fabulous vehicle but you can't justify the $70k difference in price tag. Only if you want the cache.

I think I see a small issue. Spend another $73,000 on the Jeep and then lets have another comparison. 6.4 hemi? go-fast suspension? any axles you could dream of? 3.0 diesel? The options are just about limitless.

Exactly, and still at half the additional cost of the Mercedes.
