WTB 2.6 engine

Looking for a 2.6 with good compression. My engine is on its last leg and hoping someone has one sitting around. Can just be the longblock, I have intake and the rest.
Or if people have a place to get a rebuilt long block I'd also be interested, all I've found so far is shady Ebay listings or Top End Performace that wants 3300$.

Better testing (like a leak-down test) would tell if the bottom end of your existing engine is still good. Even still, putting new bearings in the lower end, rings if it needed them and then slapping a Clearwater head on, new balance shaft bearings and a timing/balance shaft chain set would refresh the thing. I wouldn't trust someone I don't know to do a rebuild on the 2.6 if that was their first one. And, my opinion only, I wouldn't let someone talk me into eliminating the balance shafts, either. It's a damn good engine in stock form.
