WTB: 4runner or FZJ80

I am looking for:

95-97 FZJ80 with lockers. Baselined and headgasket done a major plus. Any color but black or red. Prefer stock (but will consider the right modded truck). Less than 150k miles, but would consider something higher with excellent maintenance history.

OR

1999-2000 4runner 4wd sport edition with the e-locker, but I would consider any 98+ 3rd gen 4wd. Prefer silver, but am open to other colors.

Buy my 98 4runner 5speed: NO Locker.
It was completely stock just a few months ago, new OME heavy lift kit complete. has not been off road yet. SR5 with leather, 170K, new timing belt/water pump, new flowmaster catback, runs perfectly. very clean in and out.

Might not be exactly what you are looking for but a nice 3rd gen truck.

I have an 89 Trooper with a 5-speed and I live in OC....Not exactly what you are looking for but very clean and not much $$$.

Not bad in CO at all. They don't use salt on the icey roads like states back east do.

Would consider higher mileage land cruisers if the maintenance was done the price was right.

sdnative, since you're no longer looking, I'll hijack your thread! I'm looking for a '99-'00 4runner as well. Must have 4WD and leather seats, prefer limited for the multimode and also prefer an e-locker. Honestly if I could build my own 4R from the parts bin it would be an SR5 with the limited transfer case and a 5 speed manual. Did they even offer manual trans in the limiteds? Not a fan of woodgrain and some of the other limited options, but do like the ability of AWD for ski trips on icy/mixed condition pavement.

Here's the full summary of my search criteria:
  • 99-00 limited (AWD, cup holders, keyless entry, digital HVAC)
  • Leather seats
  • 140k miles or less
  • NO RUST (prefer southwest states, live in SoCal)
  • Light body colors (silver, white, tan), but would consider black or green
  • Recent/documented maintenance
  • Factory E-Locker

The locker would be nice to have out of the gate, but is not a big deal killer. I can manage without one for a while, and then add something if I feel the need later. Goodies like newer capable tires, modest lift, overland equipment would obviously be a nice bonus, but I'm not holding my breath.

My budget is about $7500. I've found rigs that meet this price point (or pretty close) but most have either been already sold, many more miles, beat up, rusty, or not one of my color preferences. Most are also at least a few hundred if not 1000+ miles away. I have two locally that I'm working on right now, but the sellers are not very easy to deal with. I've found plenty of rigs in the $8500-10000 range, but I'm paying cash for this rig and can't afford that much at this point.
