WTB: Dana Designs hip belt M-L Astroplane

What I’m looking for is a Dana Designs Astroplane Arcflex hip belt (a terraplane will also work) in medium or large. A puppy got to this bombproof pack a few years ago and I’m trying to bring it back to its glory for some summer trips. I know that Dana packs came with belt and harness options at the shops. I’m hoping that someone has one kicking around collecting dust. I have tried calling Marmot/K2 the company the purchased Dana Designs with no luck as the Astroplane went through some changes since they re-bagged it under K2 then Marmot. I did try Mystery Ranch to see if I could rig up one of their belt into this pack; this was also a dead end. Any help from the Expo collective would be appreciated.

I'll have to do some digging around but I might have a spare I picked up for my Astralplane (still going strong).

Bighead I may have one in the works here on expo. Thanks for looking. Astroplanes sure are bomber packs. I have three Dana packs and one tent. They were so over built I have yet to buy any Mystery Ranch packs. That may change this summer. I'm looking to retire my Dana Bombpack from backcountry skiing duties and get the new Mystery Ranch Black Jack with the avalanche airbag system.

You might check and see if hip belts from the big Osprey packs would fit. They use velcro to attach the belt to the pack just as my DD Glacier...but I don't know which is "hook' and which is "loop" on pack/belt. Would require minimal mods either way, but Osprey belts are very good and might be worth the trouble to get your Astralplane going again!

Thanks for the info on Osprey packs; they do have a good belt system also. I ended up getting a belt from a fellow ExPo member that has worked very well. It is an amazing community of travelers and explorers here all willing to help.

Hi,
I read you found a replacement hip belt for an astralplane and I was wondering if you had a large hip belt. Mine is a medium and in good condition, but I've grown out of the size from 1998 when I bought it. It's a bomber pack with the limited edition extreme cordura makeover. It hauls my elk at max capacity and keeps on truckin!
I'd swap or buy.
