Looking for a clean, fair-priced D1. Not interested in a rust bucket or anything needing major work.

If the paint is in poor condition, expect my offer to be less than $1,000.

Lift, bumpers, roof rack, etc are all bonuses but not required.

I know I can get a D1 in good/great condition for less than $3k. Don't waste my time and I won't waste yours.

While I know you can get a clean (stock) DI for under 3K, Dale (Rovertrader) has a great and very well sorted white 96 *I think* (white/tan) with a newly placed 40,000K motor. The truck has had the ABS removed.
It is a super nice truck.
I do not know what he is going to ask (he picked up a 5 speed as a keeper that is about as nice a DI as I have ever seen!), and the truck he is selling was being prepped to be his "keeper" before he found this sorted 5speed.

I will link him to this thread so he can ad pics and answer the price question.

Thanks
Dendy

Dendy,

I appreciate the heads up. Dale and I actually emailed back and forth tonight. The price he's looking to get for that truck is just out of my budget. The truck Dale has seems to be a 10/10. I have no doubt in his ability to build a great truck.

Dale has put a lot of money into that truck, even stating "$500 in the window regulators and motors alone." I appreciate that. But I'm getting married in less than a year, so I'd rather find a truck that has slower windows than spend an extra $500 up front. Even if a few didn't work, I can buy good used parts from Will Tillery for a fraction of the price and save some money.

My point is that I believe Dale has put a lot of time and money into this truck and is (justifiably) trying to recoup some of it. Nothing wrong with that. However, I'm not in a position to pay someone back for work they've already done to a truck. I need an entry level platform with a few minor quirks that I can work out on my own as finances allow.

Hope that makes sense. And whoever buys that truck off of Dale is getting one heck of a truck.

Thanks guys. The '96 has new regulators and actuators, as I said it was to be a keeper, so went with new, not used so as not to be doing it again and again. That was the thought to everything being done- motor with heads done, tranny serviced, new headliner, new dash, new brakes, etc. The truck has had near double the amount being asked invested.
By contrast, I have a clean rust free 200k '94 with a 40k 3.9 just gone through with new seals, gaskets, belts, and hoses- just got the headliner and dash redone I can sell for a tad less- still at a loss- inquire if interested, also white/tan, but still needs windows, doors, etc gone through. I just need them gone- all of them. Thanks again for the kind words and endorsement. Cheers
