Looking for a 2.5 gen Montero in decent condition. Definitely willing undertake some projects but it needs to be safely drivable out of the gate. Located in Portland, OR so the closer the better, budget is flexible for the right example.

This is NOT the glorified unibody minivan. What is the "orange sticker"?. Montero fans know the center console "orange sticker" as the locking rear diff option available on the 1999 Monteros. The locking diff was not available in 2000.

I might have a free one. 2003. we're in Boulder, Co. Started to convert it then went larger-sitting collecting dust. I'm traveling starting today so PM traffic might be a day or two delayed but PM me. This things was so smooth on dirt roads. I've had too many Land Rovers and even a G wagon over the years. As far as South West dirt roads-this was the smooth ride. Has the first part of a snorkel installed-there's a winch but not working. Interior not bad. Probably needs tires. PM me.

Haha, I chatted with that guy the other day! He has zero service records and has no idea if the timing belt, valve covers, or valve stem seals have ever gotten any love. Its a beauty but seems priced pretty high for potentially needing a pile of maintenance.

Amazingly after 2500 views, 40+ watching, it's a freebie now. At least until a Peddle dealer arrives. An EP member that wants it, can have it. The back is PACKED full of spares.

If youre interested, I'll be selling a pretty clean 95 Montero sr in the next couple of weeks. I will be doing all of the "mandatory" maintenance that these vehicles require. Of course all OEM parts (timing belt, tensioner, cam seals, water pump, valve cover gaskets, irridium plugs, pulleys etc..). I have had a few monteros and have done this job probably 5 times. will probably be in the $4500 range. I live in the castle rock area in washington.

The maintenance history and current "head gasket" issue make me scratch my head a little bit. I wonder if the system just needs to be properly flushed and burped, including heater core, but I don't know Monteros and don't have the time for this kind of project. Have not seen the vehicle or talked with seller.

That one has definitely caught my eye, if it does need a headgasket that seems priced pretty dang high.
