WTB: Shipping Bladders

These are large bladders that are inflated inside containers in order to protect cargo and fill void space during shipping.

I need a few large ones for a project. If anybody knows where I can procure some of these used, please let me know (those in major port towns, looking to you).

They are the same thing that was used on the Canol Rd. expedition and will be used in similar capacity.

Thanks in advance,

Leary

another source...

I picked up four from a custom cabinetry shop in Columbia SC to build a raft. They were 5' feet long and 3 or so around... they were left over from tractor trailers used to protect the cabinets.... all had holes that I patched up... just a thought.

5-6 ft square would work great. Do you have the overall inflated dimensions?

Any ideas on price?

I'll try to grab some Saturday before they go in the dumpster. They are pretty big inflated and look like a giant pillow, they come in inbound trucks loaded with beverages and we just trash them since our outgoing trucks use straps or load bars.
As for price, just cover shipping

You could try calling local terminals of the freight companies around you, one of them might be willing to give you a couple for free. I have never seen brand new ones on our dock, we just deflate and reuse and they get shuffled around terminal to terminal, if they get cut they just get tossed with the normal cardboard piles for dunnage. Ours are mostly ITW branded and ~3-4' square and puff up to about ~2' at the widest point, cardboard outer shell protecting the plastic, don't know if those would be large enough for your purpose, but if you can't a hold of anything let me know and i'll snag a couple.
