Today, after 15 months my jeep returned from mexico.

slightly "damaged"
missing license plates
VIN has been swapped out

don't know much more than that.

:Wow1:

I'm thinking about going out to the tow yard just to see if I can shoot some pics of it. :safari-rig:

Here's what it looked like last time I saw it. I had just taken off the Kongocage, which Kahle is now rocking.

niiice!!!! Do you get to bid for it or anything?

[shrug]

I'm pretty happy with my cherokee, so not even sure I'd want to.

If the insurance paid it off, what is the procedure, usually?

never had a car stolen before. :snorkel:

I would assume that if the insurance paid it off and then it was recovered then it would be auctioned off. It will have a salvage title now, which means hassles when you sell it and when you go to insure it. Personally, I would leave it behind - not worth the hassles.

You could probably purchase it back less the salvage value. Most companies give the policyholder the option of purchasing it back if/when recovered. Rebuilt/Salvage/Junk title laws vary state to state. If you could purchase it back for a minimal amount, it might very well be worth it. Then again, CA laws are much different from WA. Good luck. I would love to see pics of the the recovered vehicle.

just let it go man... let it go.

you now have an XJ!!!! :victory: way better off. :ylsmoke:

crazy that it was recovered though. i worry a bit about my junk being hijacked and taken to mex sometimes.

Think of it this way, if you buy it back, you'd be adding another dependant sucking off your revenue stream. And if we know anything about Jeeps, it will always need something...
