Zj camping rig pics?

Hi all, allow me to say hey first with a little backstory.

I'm a college student who's been off road my whole life whether hunting, fishing, camping, or wheeling. Me and my girlfriend have finally agreed the best hobby we can both enjoy is backcountry camping. Been lurking here a while, finally deciding to post.

What I'm looking for is the inside of your zj. I'm considering building a platform to sleep on with storage underneath but was gonna see what other ideas y'all had. Ill have a roof basket soon, for gas/spare/big tools.

Max of 4 or 5 days worth of water/supplies. So far we don't get far enough out to need to carry all our food.

Thanks in advance.

Sent from my greasy iPhone.

There are plenty of zj builds on here with some great ideas. I have mine in the Jeep section here under My 96 zj expo rig. I built a custom rear storage area and a homebuilt flat roof rack that work great for me.

Are you looking to sleep in the back, or tent it? That would have a big impact on how you move forward with a design.

I currently own 2 built ZJ's and will honestly say that you should look for a 95-99 Montero SR, tons more space and a much better 4wd system with a smoother ride. The mid-late 90's Trooper is a good option as well.

I'm hoping to pick up a zj for my girlfriend. My hopes are 4.0/242, swapped in a high pinion 30 with 760s and a trutrac in the rear. 235s would suffice with a small budget boost.

I'm jealous I didn't start with 1 originally to be honest.

235 what, 235/85's? You could fit those with a budget lift and stock backspacing.

Oh ya sorry that wasnt clear lol. Budget boost or f>r swap & 235/85s since she likes the "moabs". If I couldn't find the 16s I would just do stock 255/75 Jk take offs.

JKs have a different bolt pattern and would require spacer/adapters.

I think Black was trying to say that if you didn't want them, you could avoid having to use spacers/adapters. You could have just politely said, thanks, but were set on JK ones.

I'm not even sure if there's any difference (don't know what the TJ ones look like).
