ZJ Rear Glass won't open

Ok so I've had my New to me Jeep for 2 days now. I went to open the rear glass hatch last night and can't get it to open....The rear lift opens fine. What am I missing here? The push button moves, but maybe isn't releasing all the way?

well no one responded to my question so I cowboyed up :pROFSheriffHL: and pulled the rear panel off and started testing things. First off holy crap, is there nothing that isn't electrical? I can't believe that the rear glass release button is just a switch. I figured I was mechanical. I diagnosed that I wasn't getting any power to the switch. Still haven't figured out why. No blown fuses and everything else works thats on that same circuit. There was a unused plug mounted down low next to the tailgate latch. I ran my volt meter across it and it was hot. So I just stole power from that and everything works like it should. However I can't lock the glass now. But i'm not to worried about that.:ar15:

There is probably an interrupt switch somewhere in the original hot circuit, that keeps the glass from working under certain circumstances, like door-ajar or whatever. Since you have verified that the lift motor works, work the original hot circuit backwards toward the fuse panel.

It is set up so that when the rear wiper is on, the rear glass will not open. I would guess there is a fault somewhere in that circuitry.
