Zodi instant shower

I bought one off of Ebay and when I got it, it was damaged. The burner would barely stay lit. I contacted the seller and he made it good and Zodi Sent me a new shower which works correctly.

I filled a bucket from the cold water tap and ran the shower out of it. The water was warm. I like it warmer than that so I recycled the water. I walked away for about 10 minutes and the water in the bucket was really nice. The water coming out of the shower was way too hot to shower with. I think I am going to like this new toy. I will just have to watch it more closely in real use.

I was just looking into this product. Keep us updated on how it ends up working for you.

Patience seems to be a necessity when using very cold water in the Zodi. I discovered that with 35f water I had to let the Zodi cycle for about 10 minutes before the shower was truly hot.

Unfortunately I made this discovery while stripped down to my skivvies on a below-freezing day!

OK.

I am back already and I think the shower was worth the money.

It would have been nice to be able to use it more but the outside temps were not good for being wet and outside naked.

But it beats the hell out of being stinky and itchy. When you are out in the boonies for 3 weeks straight you will start to grow bread under your sack if you don't do something.

Baby Wipes, people.

Buy a case at Costco and keep a few packages in the rig. Sealed they stay moist for years. Once open, you get a couple of months. Even the wife is satisfied with a nightly "wipes-bath" for trips up to a week or two. Course, my wife is awesome...

I get heat rash really bad. The last time I tried baby wipes I had gotten the gentile ones for sensitive skin and when it touched my ***, I almost jumped clear over the truck.

The shower doesn't make me try to jump over tall vehicles in a single bound.

noticed some baby wipes after a few days leaves our skin gnarly dry
we use them still but sparingly
still found the simple foot pump wash so handy since your hands are dirty you never touch the on off of the water and easy to regulate for hands face etc... just boil up some on the stove and use that
for showers still like the idea of when I was using the coleman hot water heater just put the intake into the same 5 gallon jerry can so rotating to comfy temp then showering rinsing
I am going to try out one of those copper ring things and put that over the stove or propane fire ring and pump the water like I did with the coleman see how that works

dealing with the cold is a issue for sure I am really curious to try since often we bring a buddy heater about making a small camp shower room out of some canvas walls say making it 4x8 feet maybe and the main shower part will be about 3.5x3.5 inside so small dry area with the heater etc... and just crank the thing and go in take the shower and see how that works since that thing can push out a ton of heat figure should work out
also have kids so want some room to help them dry off get dressed etc...

Yes baby wipes have at least some rubbing alcohol in them which can dry out your skin. But they are a nice thing to have around. They are making larger free standing shower stall things which I suspect are to enable space to move and dry off before stepping out etc. Our entire tent trailer is 4x6 floor with two queen beds to each side. LOL I don't get why a shower facility would need to be 4x8 unless you were camping with three rugby teams playing matches all day. LOL

I guess you think its funny what I want ? I wont ever buy a pop up/tent trailer ? but wont laugh at those that do or have them everyone has reasons why they choose what they do and I respect that :)

in reality most likely wont be that big maybe 3.5x6 or so which is what I want based on experience so far :)

I wasn't being sarcastic!
I was lol at how short and direct it is, which is a good thing these days when so many are long winded with the same point being made lol

As for the solar shower, I have the same one for 5+ years and use it very frequently. I wouldn't say it's a trickle, a step or three better. And when water needs to be used sparingly it's just about perfect.

If you get the "organic-y" wipes they don't have any of those harsh chemicals. Several brands make wipes like these but check out this page, they list the ingredients: https://www.honest.com/baby/honest-wipes

I never really liked the baby wipe bath option, but after we had our kid a friend gave us some of the Honest brand wipes and they were much better for both the baby and us. Our son never got diaper rash until he started daycare, and when I use them, I like how it doesn't feel like there's a chemical layer left behind on my skin.
