More updates from Chris:
Got emails from Chris on Friday. My Fiamma F35 awning that he's had is being shipped up here FedEx.
"Spence,
Boxing up the awning this morning and will have a FedEx tracking here in a bit. I will also have the total refund amount that will be coming back to you. Have not sold your trailer yet, but once this AirForce check comes in for their trailers I will just refund the trailer if I have not sold it yet."
Then later:
"You paid $8,400 deposit I'm waiting for the up dated shipping amount to ship the tent to you then I will have a total amount for refund minus a small percent for Credit card fee's I will have the here in a bit."
My reply back:
"Chris,
Subtract the cost to ship the awning to me, I got that. Also, I'll pay the shipping on the Safari to get to me as well. Subtract that from the remaining balance as well.
Hey man, I know your swamped and I really, sincerely wish you ALL the BEST. I'm sure you will make it through these bumpy times, you have a nitch product that people in the expo community are excited about. It's not A/T glam, it's your simple bombproof design that has people raving. And the ones who've gotten your trailer have all been extremely impressed. Just please take the time to talk to the ones who've paid and are waiting. If you're behind on someone's order, just let them know. If they have a problem with it....F 'em! 90% of the people you talk you regarding a late order will be COMPLETELY understanding......everyone's pulling for you and your business. The other 10 percent, you don't want as a customer anyway. Just a little update goes a very long way, man.
My pulling out has NOTHING to do with the status of my order. If it wasn't for a huge business venture, a child with some health issues and a damn dog that I just spent $2Gs with repairing a Miniscus tear in her knee, I'd be here still. But **** happens. You're understanding is very cool and I greatly appreciate it and like I've said, when I do have all the cushion to be able to get another trailer, you're going to build it for me.
If you want, I can throw up an ad on some sites advertising for a mid-production Gen 2 "special order box". Maybe someone will want to pick up my spot, like we talked about. If you can, please let me know your thoughts on this and if you have another idea that as well. Your FB page would probably get it picked up by one of your followers if you put in up there For Sale. Just a thought.
Take care man. You're got a helluva product, keep with it."
So at this time, I know my awning is on the way and that he intends to do right by sending the Maggiolina. Will keep this updated as Mike from Autohome told me Chris promised that payment was being sent when they spoke last week.
I'm putting a feeler out in the classified section for the Gen 2 box I was having made. I have no idea what the status of this trailer is in as far as production, but someone wanting to get in line here for a custom size Gen 2 can take my spot. It was ordered in March 12 and was told it was going to be finished beginning of June, so I can't be TOO far down the list, but I'm not the one who can answer that for certainty. Either way, this trailer is closer to the top off the order list than someone wanting to order one today.
So here's what have I learned: 1. My Fiamma's on the way 2. Autohome knows about the SNAFU down at Sierra and Chris has communicated that it'll be getting shipped out 3. Chris intends to issue a refund for the balance - shipping the awning and Maggiolina.
