This is a really nice Sunrader. I was very close to buying this truck but it is not up to full time living. The present owner is very knowledgeable and helpful. Somebody is going to get a great vehicle.

"only 26 ever made between 1984-1987"

I'd never heard that before.

That's a great looking RV... do they have a toilet?

Yes they have a toilet and shower but very small. I own 2 Sunraders same size but not 4x4's. Love them. Only a foot longer than my Ford Explorer so can go just about anywhere.
I don't know what Sunraiderseeker was talking about not for full timing. I have a friend who was a manager at Citibank in Los Angeles and lived in a Sunrader the same size for 10 years to save money to retire early. If you can do it while maintaining a high profile job in a big city it can be done anywhere.

The rear locking hubs must be for flat towing? I've seen it done to some fj 40s and jeeps but never understood it.

If Linda recommends it, that's high praise. She knows her sunraders.
One of the nicest ones I've seen yet. Fair price too IMO. I paid 15K for mine and it wasn't as pretty and had a 22r not 22re like this one.

still needs a bit of work. The owner seems like a really nice guy. He said, "the front diff has not been change to 488, it is still 410 so no 4 wheel drive unless you are in sloppy mud. That is the reason it is listed at $17900 and not $19000. I have just been waiting for a used one to show up on the local craigslist."

Perhaps I should have said 'over landing' instead of 'full timing'. They are great little rigs but they are built on half ton chassis. The reason for the rear locking hubs in this case is a full floater front axle has been custom made to replace the half ton rear axle with Sunrader bolt on duallies.

The rear axle is a rear axle out of a 1993 toyota 4x4 and has been upgraded to a full floater with disk brakes with a Front Range full floater conversion kit. Very well respected upgrades. Not a front axle. You misunderstood.

and from the RVr add said:
It is mounted in a wide 1993 4x4 rear axle housing and has disc breaks and rear locking hubs
You can see the hub lock outs in the smugbug photos. OK I read the link and the lock outs are for flat towing.
From link:
The full-floater conversion kit also integrates locking hubs on the rear axle, which can be unlocked for flat-towing the vehicle. DO NOT USE WARN, MILEMARKER OR OTHER AFTERMARKET LOCKING HUBS!! These hubs are MUCH weaker than the Aisin hubs and our Drive Flanges. They also do not allow proper spline engagement into the differential, nor do the aftermarket hubs use cone washers, which are vital to retaining the lock hub to the wheel hub.

Do these have seatbelts in the rear so that more than 2 people can travel in them safely?

Mine have one seat belt on each side of the dinette. After so many years I don't know if Jerry's are still in place on his Sunrader 4x4 but they could be replace and another one could be added on the rear of the dinette. Slightly different interior in my 86's.

You would have to read Front Range Off Roads info. It's possible they used front hubs in their kit but that is not a front axle.I know that much. So read the article on 4x4wire about the installation and they do use some parts from a front axle. The locking hub is optional. These parts were installed with the front range parts and new chromoly axle shafts into the 1993 4x4 axle to make it a full floater. Read
