Now I just need to go on a trip and get some actual off road pictures. I am trying to make a trip out to Big Bend in January.

I just found your thread. Nice build, and nice truck. My wife and I will be out in Big Bend on the 20th of January for a race/run. We won't be doing any off road camping, but we'll be in the national park in the Rio Grande village campground. If you make your way over to that area, look for our truck. Red Tacoma with black flippac.

I recently added some 8" KC Highlights Driving lights to the bumper. I haven't got a chance to test them out on a dark road yet though.

Looking good. I am slowly working my way at upgrading mine. I would like to end up how your truck looks. What window visors are those? Are they the in channel ones or do they stick on with tape? Thanks.

They are AVS in channel window visors.

New Wheels and Tires

So I have been away for a little while. Since my last update I have changed a few things.

First....new wheels and tires. They are powder coated 2nd Gen TRD off road wheels wrapped in 235/85R16 Cooper Discover AT3. These tires are awesome. I love them. I got a total of 5 wheels and these tires fit in the stock spare tire location with no modification. :sombrero:

Below are some pictures from a day exploring around Ruidoso, NM right after I got the new wheels and tires.

When I ditched the camper shell I picked up a DeeZee bed box that fits between the wheel wells. In the box I mounted my house batter, compressor, and tools.

Pics to follow....

The latest addition is a Thule XSporter adjustable rack. I chopped some of the front legs off so that I can drop the cross bars down below cab height. I will mount my Thule case that holds my OzTent + accessories and a Yakima Basket for extra storage space.

I also moved me hi-lift behind the seat. It fits perfect and doesn't rattle, plus it keeps in out of the weather.

Love the truck so far! I've been tossing around plate bumper options for a few years now. It was always between ARB or Shrockworks until AllPro came out with the Apex. It's def a winner.

Time for an update...it's been a while and a few things have changed.

I have recently gone back to a camper shell. I like having the security. This time I custom ordered it exactly how I wanted.

It's a Leer, can't remember the model. It has Thule Tracks, cargo net, interior carpet, removable front window, and windoors on the side. The win doors are awesome and I highly recommend them.

I ditched the All-Pro bumper in favor of an ARB. I like the fit and finish of the ARB much better.

Installed in the ARB bumper is a Warn M8000 with Masterpull winch line with a Materpull safety thimble. I also replaced the metal rollers with Daystar synthetic rollers. I decided to stick with rollers instead of a hawse fairlead because the fairlead mount sits back in the bumper and with side pulls there is potential for the rope to rub on the bumper. This will not happen with the rollers. And I had the rollers already and the new synthetic rollers were cheaper than a hawse fairlead.

why did you switch to an ARB vs the Allpro in the front? i know said fitment but what didn't fit? i like the higher clearance of the AP but which one is lighter?

I have also built a drawer system for the bed that I am very proud of. It has two carpeted drawers, a foldable side cover, and I mounted my fridge slide to the top. They are secured to the bed with cam-buckles.
