Who is running 40+ inch tires?

Who is running 40+ inch tires and what brand are you running and how do you like them?

I am looking to go from 37s to at least 40s and I am looking at the Continental MPT 81 335/80R20 - 40.6in. tall & 12.4in. wide.

Thank you for your help.

I’ve never run 40’s. But I’d certainly give heed to this guy who’s run them on more trucks than a Tirerack test driver

LOL. I tend to lean towards 37's as being the best all around size, especially for a truck that will see more than occasional use. That said, I am trying to convince my father to move up to 39's or 40's on his Gladiator next lol.

I think I may get there eventually. But it won't be until good quality LR-E tires hit with the weight I carry. Supposedly BF Goodrich will make it with the HD in a 40x13.50r18. We shall see.

Hercules Ironman I-402, 385/65R-22.5 (42" diameter 15.5" wide) on 22.5 x 12.25 Alcoa
I love them. They are very quiet, nice ride (the truck is rougher than the tires, but a moot point with air-ride seats), and at the low relative weight of the truck to their rating (9951 per tire), pretty much zero wear.

H1 originally come with 37 inch tires,
In this picture I have super swamper 39.5 tires that actually measure 40+

Terrible choice,
The ride quality dropped by 50%
Handling, braking, acceleration all became bad.

Stick to 37s

Also keep in mind, tire manufacturers lie, just because on the tire it’s says it’s 39 or 37 or 40 it doesn’t mean those are the actual size.
strange right ?
