So, I've used the search button and couldn't find what I was looking for.

The XJ has 31" at's on it. I am wondering if I should go with an aftermarket rotors and pads or should I stick with a good set of oem from the auto parts store ?
And I do need to get new rotors because I went to long on changing the pads and toasted them:Wow1:

I'm running 33's on my XJ, an using stock rotors on it.

They work fine, and with 31's you should be OK.

I carry a lot of weight in mine when on a trip, best mod I did was to add rear discs.

$50 and about 3 hours labor:elkgrin:

Rear factory discs from a Grand with the D35 will fit the XJ D35, Chry 8.25 and D44 rear ends with a little fab.

The facory rear drums worked OK, but the disc's are a real improvement.

Centric premium rotors (120 series)

EBC Yellow pads.

Make sure you bed the brakes correctly and you will have a great set of brakes....

While the EBC stuff is a nice step up from stock, for street use I really like the Hawk HP and HP+ line.

Back when I was running and offroad performance shop, we were sourcing most of our high performance brake stuff through http://www.knsbrakes.com/

Those guys are very helpful for finding the right pad/rotor for any application.

I'm currently running Hawk HP+ on my TJ on 35s. It stops about as good as it did stock, while still running stock sized brake components.

Bedding brakes is good, and fun most of the time. Doing it without getting a ticket.. well that takes some creativity.

Also.. don't forget the stainless lines and smurf fluid. As far as upgrades go, a full set of stainless lines seems to be the best way to improve pedal feel.

Talk about service. Ordered yesterday - here today.
Now, since I am doing all this, should I spring for new calipers or rebuild the ones on there. It's about 40 dollars for 2 calipers after the core return..
I have steel braided lines for it, so I'm going to install those at the same time.
Hopefully get some better pedal response and stopping power...

Rebuild them at least, if they don't look too bad then keep 'em. If you do keep them, give them a good wash in a parts cleaner then hit them with a coat or two of brake caliper paint for more protection and some stylizing.
