    Do you have any more posts of your sleeping platform? I built one for my Xterra but am considering going to a 4runner for the extra length between the front seats and the rear gate.

    In that pic the owner removed the back seats that flip forward and has put storage boxes so support his mattress. Hope all this helps. But the Xterra is a great vehicle also. Let me know if you need anything else.

    Thanks for the photos. The X is good but a little too short to have our bed platform open unless the front seats are all the way forward (which means you can't drive with the bed open). Looks like the 4R is a little longer inside. I built a sleeping platform that is high enough for our ice chest and lots of other gear underneath but it is pretty cramped for headroom.
