    Shiftpod; The obvious alternative

I've been using one for 4 years now. Have around 140 nights in it. Lot's of weekend trips and numerous 2-3 week trips. Most of the time it's setup less than 2 days at any given spot. This thing is beyond tent level. Better to think of it as a portable room/shelter. The ability to stand up...

CPT Truck Utility Box vs. Tufport

These popped up on my fbook the other day. Cost wise it looks doable. Not sure about the EPS foam as a core though. Thoughts from the experts?

2nd Gen Dodge Ram 2500 5.9 Cummins / The “Puller” Project

Been looking over your upgraded suspension. Might have to pull the trigger on some of that for mine. My concern is the lift. I still want to fit into a standard height garage. My truck currently has a 2" lift. And with the my camper shell and current rack setup - i don't have much room to...

    Recommendation - durable 270 awning?

+1 for alucab awning. Been using mine every weekend for 3 years now. Normal wear and tear. Been in downpouring rain and lots of wind. Does well. And whatever you get - Always stake it down. (no matter what the brochure says)

Bent Alu-Cab 270 awning arm - fix help

I've had this happen when I got hit by a microburst. Was able to order the arm through my local alucab vendor. Mine was bent right at the attachment point and then folded in the middle as well. You could go to your local hardware store and pickup some alum angle. Pop rivet it in place. It...

1998.5 Dodge Ram CTD - Sally

Lovin the updates. You got the blankets in a quite timely manner! Quality looks outstanding. I've been around commercial aircraft for the last 30 years. Looks very comparable to blankets I've seen on planes. Time to place my order. New frame to door seals, window seals and sound deadening...

1998.5 Dodge Ram CTD - Sally

Joe, Very quick reply from ATP. With the full kit installed, DB drop of 30DB's in the cab. going from 95db to 65db at highway speeds. That's sounding good to me. From the interweb - Is 95db loud? Common Sources of Noise and Decibel Levels Sound is measured in decibels (dB). A whisper...

1998.5 Dodge Ram CTD - Sally

I sent them an inquiry today. I'll let you know when they reply. I wear ear plugs whenever the engines running. Been around jet engines all my life. And this thing is as loud as those. (at idle) take-off power is a different story:)

1998.5 Dodge Ram CTD - Sally

Thanks for the information. When I changed my pump a couple of years ago, the insulation blanket on the tappet cover fell off in pieces. Truck was noticeably louder without out it. I've been meaning to buy one and install. Just haven't done it yet. (cause of all the crap you gotta take off...

1998.5 Dodge Ram CTD - Sally

Question for you. I saw awhile back you worked on getting the Cummins toned down in the noise department. I've been working on the interior of mine to do the same. Mostly just changing old leaky window seals and door seals. Wondering how the damping material you put on the hood has worked...

    Electric Heat? Teardrop

Chinese diesel heater all the way. Been using one for 3 years. Works great. Or electric blankets. The blanket I have pulls 7amps. I have 280ah of life batt power. Easy peasy.

Chinese diesel heater with portable power

Here's my workaround for that. I've been using my cheap diesel heater without fail for two years. approx 60 nights so far. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SL2MG6X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

AZ 2nd gen Dodge Ram with Alucab awning

Here is some pics of the LED lights installed. For the arm that has a support leg. You’ll need to drop the support bracket down by height of the LED’s. New bracket will be required to hold the leg up as well. My bracket is a bit dodgy, but does what it’s supposed to do. Getting the wiring...
