  • The trail is fairly easy for anyone with a little offroad experience. All of the major obstacles, which used to be the trail, have bypasses. Almost any stock pick up can make it and anything 4x should have no trouble. they have been bull dozing the roads in from the north to Oro Bell Mine and the south up to the last residences. I have done the trail with a group of 8 jeeps and myself in about 2 1/2 hours. The pinz group usually makes a day of it. We like to enjoy the sites along the way and not feel beat up at the end of the day. We have a campsite about 3/4 of the way up that we camp at. Those who want to make a day of it just head up the trail to Crown King and then out the front way in (26 miles of dirt road back to I17).

Hey there, thanks for the invite..next weekend may not work as i need to make one more run from Oregon to bring last load. Crown king sounds fun, are there bypasses to take for any rough spots and how long does that back way take? Keep in touch for any other runs.
