Lets see some full size pictures...

1995 was the year GM switched from calling the 2 doors a Blazer to Tahoe. When I first bought mine 20 years ago, it took a while for me to call it a Tahoe, as in my mind it was actually a Blazer. I almost purchased some Blazer emblems to put on it, but eventually I got over it and now it's a...

Lets see some full size pictures...

I got to spend a few days in the Ozark National Forest recently with my boy. Always wonderful to spend time in God's Creation with my son! This was the view out of our tent one morning: At the top of Pilot Rock: Casey

    Engine recommendations for cold climate

I have had my diesel trucks gel up about three or four times over the past 30 years here in SW Missouri, even with using fuel treatments. I don't think we get the "winter" fuel like they do up north, even though the fuel stations around here say it's treated for winter time. If the temps get...

40 years of the HMMWV, AM general video

Just a quick clarification: You are thinking of the Ford 6.9L/7.3L IDI platform. It's the same basic design as the GM 6.2L/6.5L platform. The Ford Powerstroke is a completely different animal that uses the HEUI fuel system, and does not have an injection pump like the 6.5L. Casey

40 years of the HMMWV, AM general video

While I don't own a Hummer, I do have a vehicle with similar powertrain: 1995 Tahoe 2 door with the 6.5L turbo diesel backed by the 4L80E. I currently have over 430K miles on the odometer. Now to be fair, there's not much left that I could call "original." I rebuilt the engine, transmission...

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

Yes, parts quality seems to be going downhill rather fast. I always try to go for Genuine GM replacement parts, but even then I've had issues. For example, I replaced the thermostats in my Tahoe with Genuine GM thermostats, but they stuck open in less than a year and I had to replace them...

    Chilliwak?

Forums in general have very little traffic these days, due to Facebook groups and Instagram posts. However, I really don't care for those other formats. Way too much of a free-for-all and you can't find anything when you search for it!! I'll always prefer forums over other social media...

Guess who's back!?! Atl-atl's K5 Blazer + Four Wheel Camper "The Crawlin Cabin" documentation thread!

Sweet rig! I absolutely love the old square bodies with conversions. I would like to have a crew cab C/K30 Western Hauler edition myself. Casey

Possible new class 5 rig. Am I nut's to choose gas motor ?

Which is one of the reasons I still drive my 30 year old Chevy Tahoe with the factory 6.5L diesel and over 400K miles! :D :D I just can't justify the cost of the new diesels. But my old, rattling IDI diesel suits my needs just fine. Casey

    Suburban Poptop vs. Excursion Poptop….

I'm a die-hard diesel guy. Been driving nothing but diesels since 1995. I love everything about them - the noise, the smoke, the rattle, the vibration, and the fuel economy. However, the days are gone for making a valid reason to justify buying a diesel purely for the better fuel economy...
