Hi, I'm in my early Fifties but due to illness have been unable to work. I have always loved the 50's, the rock n roll era and classic american cars. A Rebel Without A Cause I suppose. Anyway living in the UK there will never be a chance of me being able to or afford a classic car. I was given an old trailer (cargo diy type) broken axle but good frame and tongue.
I am a great believer in recyclable materials and being the hoarder type, not because I'm miserable but due to the fact I have little cash, what little cash I do have I keep for the car so I can travel. Its disappointing to go somewhere and just wish you can stay. No money, nowhere to sleep and camping with a tent in Scotland is either just too damn cold or wet.
So past year I've gathered thousands of materials I can recycle and use. I have spent a lot of time creating plans and where people start from the outside to the inside of such a project my intention is to start in and go outwards. Because of disability I shall be building it in 3 modules when all completed can be bolted together and to the trailer chassis with help from the wife and kids. Everything also ( why 3 modules I am going to build in my little 8 x 10 shed with tools I've accumulated over the years that others have dumped. I've restored them and got them back to work.
The completed Camper Trailer I estimate will be about 7 x 9 and ( wait for it ) hopefully will sleep 6 ( if not 100% 4 ) adults. It will have a kitchen, WC, Shower, Dinette, Dining Area, Entertainment System, TV, Water, Solar Powered and Lounging Sofas for its occupants. So you can guess its going to be a lot of pull down, lift up and pull out furnishings. I started my career in Engineering in the plastics industry so I'm a hands on sort of Guy. I may be in my 50's but my heart and brain is still in my 20's.
So I will keep you posted as things go and materialise.
Start of project will be 1st February 2019 and I am hoping to have it completed by 1st May 2019 if not sooner all ready for the summer.
Best regards and thank you for taking the time to read About Me.
