Why the ridiculous range requirement? My HD diesel can’t go 600 miles, towing or not. Unloaded at reasonable highway speeds I can do about 500 miles and towing a travel trailer or with my camper in the bed I can do about 350.
They’re still planning to produce it. They cancelled the full EV version and kept the EREV for now. I’m definitely interested in it. Electric charging at home for most of my driving but easy to drive distances and be off in the middle of nowhere camping/hunting/fishing and run off the onboard...
It’s the same argument used in every industry. If something is new and better but threatens the financial wellbeing of the established businesses it is always attacked under the guise of “protecting the consumer” when in reality it’s just protecting business bottom lines. No one wants to sit at...
The pilot handshake is accomplished by using resistors to trick the charger in the absence of a BMS communicating it. I suppose someone sells it premade which would be easier. I was assuming you wanted to have a J1772 or NACS plug on the camper rather than a standard TT30 plug to avoid using...
It would be a bit of work. For a level 2 (AC) you’d either need the BMS/controller to communicate with the charger (or a kinda janky resistor setup to trick it) and a converter to step the 240v AC down to whatever DC battery you’re charging. For level 3 (DC) you’d need the BMS/controller to...
I looked at a Scout. The extra legal useful load would have been nice but the price was a fair bit higher and the plane wasn’t in anywhere near as good condition.
I don’t see how it would be an alternative to a Garmin GPS. The internet connection can let you access more maps and information without planning ahead to download at home but it’s not exactly portable and would require extra devices and power sources to be a usable navigation aid.
Not a great picture but oh well. Citabria 7GCBC with nice low hours on a frame up rebuild and total overhaul O320. Figure I’ll put some work in on pavement this winter with the current tires and then put some 26” or 29” bushwheels on in the spring for getting out and around on. The engine cover...
Not that one, but a different one. Waiting on the weather to clear up enough for a flight from Willow back up to Fairbanks. I’ll post pictures once I get it home.
