You can have such a setup on the Jeep too.
We have mounted also some airline tracks at our hardtop.
First setup was for our skiers to mount them outside of the Jeep.
But it will also be good for water, fuel, sand tracks etc.
Hi Dan, I've made some photos and measured also the height of the system.
The quicke release "cone" (or however you will name it) which is fix installed on the hardtop is roundabout 4,5 cm.
The upper part of the quick release with the bar has additional 9 cm.

Hi, for the RTT on our 2 door Wrangler we've installed the Rhino Rack Backbone system with the heavy duty bars and the quick release.
It worked perfect since some years (for pics see @derkleinejeep).

I've built such vents for our JK by myself (aluminium rail and ABS plastic) and added a fan to bring more air into the car. We need them also for more ventilation at night when we sleep in the car without opening the roof tent.
