Glad to hear I'm not the only one with that interminable list! Keep smiling, D

Nice looking running gear there. Maybe it's just the angle of the photo, but you may want to check whether your tailpipe is bumped by the left rear shackle on compression. D

ARB Compressor Install With Remote Air Inlet

x2. This was my first thought when I read about others' leaking issues. And, subscribed. D

    Vintage Trailers

No link availble, and I'm not sure what the BBS rules are on this, but my buddy's dad can't seem to give away his old (I think) Higgins; not even for the scrap value of the aluminum (the recyclers won't touch it). All the mechanicals seems to be there, I guess the cloth is dead or absent. The...

    Samurai Motorhome Build Thread

That's just what I needed to know! Thanks for sharing your experience. Oh, and sorry: Thread hijack OFF. @mhiscox: I think the motorhome/sleeping platform is extra-cool too. I had always figured I'd do one via a cot structure, to save the weight of the wood, allow use of the passenger...

    Samurai Motorhome Build Thread

Question about that tank, if you don't mind: I've heard it's marginally useful because it doesn't really fit another 5 gallons over stock, due a large portion of the tank being limited to air space for expansion. Is that your experience? can you really get 15 gallons in? Thanks for your input, D

    Harbor Freight 40x48, Spectacular Mediocrity

Don't these fit? http://www.harborfreight.com/198-inch-wheel-bearing-protectors-1-pair-97166.html Or these? http://www.harborfreight.com/2441-inch-wheel-bearing-protectors-1-pair-97169.html I assumed these did the same thing as proper bearing buddies, and fit either the 4-lug or 5-lug HF hubs...

off the beaten path coffee solutions

Via The Starbucks Via packets are a powder composed of freeze-dried coffee and powdered ground beans. Boil water, pour in the contents, and you're done. The only trash is the foil pouch, and there's no appreciable brewing time. The fine ground beans impart both flavor and that slightly...

off the beaten path coffee solutions

When we need 4 cups in the camper, it's the French press. When I'm by myself car camping (I mean on an expedition) I use a Big Sky Bistro press to make 2 cups. (http://gearx.com/planetary-designs-big-sky-bistro-french-press-2011-16.html?feed=5_Base_57061) It has the advantage of being...

Soft 5 gallon bags with lids??

Depends Just for the sake of discussion, something *could* be airtight under atmospheric pressure, but not watertight, due to the hydrostatic pressure developed at the bottom of the water. As an absurd example, imagine a vertical, 100-foot long, 100-gallon ziploc bag with the zipper at the...

    Off-roadable trailer fenders?

Sectioned Garbage gan? When I think about what I'll do when I face this issue, I've assumed I'd cut the fenders out of just the right locations in a janitor's garbage can. It would be light, tough, dent and scratch resistant. Appaerently you get your choice of colors, too. Somthing like this...

Where's the aluminum? The video and their website say it's steel, cast iron and aluminum. I wonder which part is aluminum? The handle, perhaps? D

    in-tire storage

It's not circular, but the Czech and German army surplus 5L cans fit inside the 15" rim of my Samurai spare tire, and take a standard NATO spout. Like this one for $15: http://cgi.ebay.com/Army-Surplus-Czech-5-Liter-Jerry-Gas-Oil-Fuel-Can-/190393026832 HTH, D

    New $100 HIDs

Rather than buying opaque covers, I just cut two circles out of a sheet of black foam rubber from the crafts store, which I slip in-between the clear cover and the lamp. Instantly opaque, and easy to store when I don't need them. D
