My Pak-All trailer with welded on stabilizer jacks that dual function to both lift and lower the entire tent rack 12". Hauled this thing over Cinnamon, California and Hurricane Passes above Silverton, CO as well as crossing Medano, Marshall and Los Pinos Passes.
Thanks! I really like the jacks frankly and their dual purpose. Sent back the linear actuators to Amazon. In an ideal world, I'd have welded on t-handle release pins at the corners (https://www.mcmaster.com/t-handle-quick-release-pins). But, the Grade8 thru-bolts work fine.
@saleenlimited 80-84" seems to be ideal. Less than that and the "tub" doesn't form correctly leading to possible water intrusion. Having said that, mine is at 76" and I experienced zero water intrusion over 7 days camping in Colorado with torrential rain/wind every day. I set mine up on a...
I got the last of the current run. I can attest to these being top-drawer quality. Very impressed. When he makes more, order one ASAP. They are worth it.
Been looking at tongue box options for my small camping trailer. They all seem to be crazy expensive ($400+) and made of thin steel with cheap locks. The cheaper ones (sub-$200) are even more flimsy and don't seem too secure.
This got me thinking: what about using a mid-size jobsite box from...
Yup. Definitely has me nervous. Manager said the trailers just showed up with no reps to show or educate them on them. And they are a LARGE RV vendor in the South. That concerns me because who is going to handle warranty work? The dealer who wasn't educated on the trailers at all? The...
Agreed on all points. 2500 lbs!? That's insanely misguided. Heck, the GVW is not even 1k over dry weight. That rack will hold 350lbs max. Too bad the dealers know so little. I saw a Patron in person and the salesman called out his manager as I walked through it showing them all the...
@Uluax .... Cottonwood will be closed BTW until August. Here's the update from Gunnison/Chaffee Counties: 5/30/19 - As of 5/30/19 the Gunnison County Commission has decided that Cottonwood Pass will remain closed until 8/12/19 at which time it may be opened with some traffic control...
Yup. I did a chalk line across them when they were 30psi and the chalk would wear off the middle quick leaving the outer and inner tread with chalk on them. At 65psi, the chalk wears off evenly across the entire tread. Not even sure why that is happening. Almost seems counter-intuitive. If...
Bringing this thread back. I have a small off-road trailer (750lbs unloaded, 1300lbs loaded. I have a Timbren Axle-less suspension that is 2200lb rated. I currently have Nitto Terra Grappler tires (285/65/18 ... 33" measured once installed). I was running them at 30psi for a little while...
It is ridiculous for sure. It's a super rare, first generation TEi3 long-neck that was gifted to me back in '97. If you think that's expensive, you should see what else is out there in the golf industry i.e. $5k iron sets. Seen guys with bags that cost WAY more than some of the trailers we...
This is more true than you can imagine. Even though it's golf related, it's a similar concept. I own a very valuable Scotty Cameron putter. Instead of putting the fancy Scotty Cameron cover on it, I put on a cheap Wilson cover. No one ever knows there is a $1500 putter under that cover...
Yup! Definitely don't want to overextend any shock (top-out). Worse negative impact than a bottom-out as few shocks have beefy top-out bumpers. Another reason is that the coils are statically captive. If the suspension extends too far, the coils could pop out. The shock travel would...
