Got my general class amateur radio license a couple months back and also do GMRS. I have several handhelds, including a Yaesu FT-5DR. Trying to figure out what to put in the new Jeep. Leaning towards a GMRS with ability to listen in on frequencies outside of GMRS.

Used car prices are so crazy, I sold my Supra for $6,500 more than I paid for it over a year ago (with a repair on the Carfax) and picked ip a new Pro-4X. Not a particularly good photo, but you get the idea. I’m in the field a bit as a biologist, so it won’t be and Uber-off road build, but I’ll...

Mud: good medium for wrastling, but sometimes bad for fish. Roads...
If memory serves, the rulling says that because the roads in question that were used in logging were a source of silt, which affected salmon, that the logging company needed an NPDES permit. It doesn't stop logging. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Anyway, it doesn't sound like wackiness to...
While I can appreciate your concern for the environment, I'm not sure these kinds of statements help. Surely not EVERYTHING we do is bad for the environment, is it? I think we run the risk of alienating folks that are concerned about the environment, but are maybe tired of hyperbole. It's a...
