    GMRS recommendations

I've been running the Midland MXT 575 with the Midland 6db gain antenna... Our group is very happy with the clarity and distance of transmission and reception in both open desert and mountainous terrain. Coming from the CB world, this is a huge upgrade. Cheers

    Suspension Setup for Payload Help

Another suggestion on how to keep the weight down is to explore some of the "light" pop-tops. As you mentioned GFC which is a good alternative, the OVRLND camper weighs only 275lbs and is a full pop-up, not a wedge. Which is very light, IMO. We are loving the set up, and the owner/operator is...

    Suspension Setup for Payload Help

I always recommend weighing the rig fully laden for travel before purchasing the suspension. This way you know the laden weight you're expecting the suspension to carry. For the type of off-highway driving you described, gusseting the frame is likely not needed. My most recent example is a...

    Tires Limited Selection?

As mentioned above, 255/85/16 Cooper S/T Maxx are tough tires. I've been running them for years in 265/75/16 on a Montero...just fitted 255/85/16's on my Tacoma and couldn't be happier. Cheers

I've got the same set up on my camper. The catch on one door is longer than the other. I had Jay install a longer one due to the position of the awning. Without a longer catch the top of the door was dragging on the bottom on the awning cover. I was worried it would wear through the cover if I...

Epic Snow Storm Wheeling & Camping excursion

Great images! I'm surprised there are no snap-shots of folks around a roaring fire. Our winter trips always include a huge, roaring fire...I can only spend so much time in a tent or camper. Cheers

    Maverick or Ridgeline? 🤔 I’m stuck…

In regards to a pop-up camper... I would recommend looking at pop-up campers that are not "wedge" style. Our Tacoma (long bed) has an Ovrlnd camper. It is light weight and the top deploys straight up, so you have plenty of room when getting in and out of bed. This also makes it nice to sit up in...

I stopped the Coroplast short so it wouldn't bind up the bed when you slide it in and out. My plan is to cover the strip with marine grade, low-mat carpet that I'm using on the ceiling. Cheers

Looks great! How does the bed slide in and out with the Coroplast in place? I was worried about the bed putting holes/dents in the Coroplast when it's slid in/out. Cheers
