You nailed it! We also had a very intimate fly-by from an F-35 pair a couple days later! They surprised us right around breakfast as well and gave us a "dog-fight" show. Cheers

Do you need to tell your vehicle insurance company (liability only) about every little mod?

Sadly, the '89 Geo Tracker is no more... I grabbed all of the parts that would work on my '94 Tracker...most of the parts were replacements for worn out parts. Everything from u-joints, cooling system, windscreen, suspension, to tires. The rig was mostly stock. When the insurance company tried...

I recommend keeping receipts for modifications and cost of parts used for replacement. I used them after an insurance company "totaled" one of my rigs after it was hit by another vehicle. I provided all of the receipts, which included replaced parts, and they honored all of them. Cheers

    Good tire inflator ?

I've been using the cheap auto parts store compressors for years. They have worked fine, but often got very, very hot and took an extremely long time for each tire to reach pavement pressure. I recently bit the bullet and purchased a system that I've found exceptional in every way. MORRFlate...

It's a good idea to confirm... I had a Superwinch that I was interested in using synthetic line on, because the wire rope had seen many years of severe service. The manufacturer informed me that the drum temps. were too high for its use. Cheers

normal for winch drum to reach 200F?

OP, you are likely already finished with the project, but in case you are not... You may want to inquire with the manufacturer to confirm that synthetic line can be used with your model winch. Many winches that come with wire rope are not designed for synthetic line...for the exact reason you...

Nice work on the schematic. I had planned on building my own battery box as well, in the beginning. However after deciding I wanted a portable unit to move between rigs or home use (when power is out), I settled on a National Luna product. Extremely satisfied with the product...
