Prior to my 15 years of Land cruiser ownership, I owned a disco I, and disco II. Loved them, but, the inherent maintenance nightmares they induced, drove me to Toyota. I could never go back based on those experiences.
Maybe this thread should be changed to: why are landcruisers so expensive...
I think the Landcruiser and Porsche 911 are peas-in-a-pod. You could drive an 80 series and 993, literally, until the end of time.

Supra / Carolla / Land Cruiser / 4runner / Taco / MR2 / Celica / LFA...
Comparing a Sequoia to a LC ain't fair. Go drive both, back-to-back, you FEEL the difference - Not all Yota's are created equally.... You think a Mercedes C-class is on par with a Unimog? Same argument.
Sequoia's are great vehicles, but there's a reason why most third-world recovery vehicles...
Has anyone ever closed the door on a Ford with 300k miles, then, done the same thing on a landcruiser? This might be a simple / stupid argument, but, one feels tank-like, the other, like a broke down, decrepit, old, Yugo...
