Wow, $1100 to install? Good tip to check what the parts costs are for options; I would definitely buy later if I was doing a factory build. As I mentioned in the other thread, I'm looking at a Canyon ATX and the skid plate package (front and mid) is a $1,170 CAD option...I wonder why so much...

Oh, I agree with the "why shouldn't they" argument. But I'm just not sure the upgrade is worth that kind of money, even if I had the cash to burn. A Gladiator with a 5.7 HEMI would be plenty for me (and most people). A crate 5.7 from MOPAR is $5,410 and a 392 is $8,045, so even a 5.7 swap would...

I know locally that's the going rate for the "lowly" 392 swap...a Demon 6.2L-swap is an eye-watering $83k (USD)!! So it seems Jeep is of the mindset that if those who want it are willing to pay that for an aftermarket swap, why not charge the same and have a factory warranty to back it up? Not...

My brother and I did that! My parents had a 1975 F-250 Ranger XLT SuperCab with a slide-in Vanguard camper that we grew up camping in. I distinctly remember crawling through the back slider window of the truck and through the sliding window of the camper to go back and forth on long road trips...

Alright. Y’all have convinced me to keep looking. Too bad, it was a good looking truck that ticked a lot of boxes. The search continues. There’s a 2020 F-350 XLT FX4 with the 7.3L that’s also caught my eye. 30k miles, sub-$40k. More money, but less headache.
