I delivered the used (and claimed to be tested) ecu with 4d34ta on it to the shop today. The bay supplier had written on it FE 99-2004. I was surprised at how bulky it is. Where exactly is it installed? Fingers crossed. The truck has been in the shop so long, the work order was yellowed...
I was told they had their best electrical guy on it a couple of months ago prior to calling in the tech from Mitsubishi so I'm assuming they've checked the harness. (but I don't know). I decided to purchase the used (and tested?) ecu so they can swap it in and see if it works. If it does I'll...
Actually, a guy from Canada, Alex Tripunov, contacted me on a Fuso Facebook page and said he could open it up, check it out and reprogram it. He deals with JDM imports and has the software to do the work. The service manager at the shop is supposed to be calling him about this option. I also...
The shop is not very communicative so I don't know exactly what the tech did. But the shop is the only shop within hundreds of miles which has the Mitsubishi software capable of diagnosing and interacting with the truck (to my knowledge). The service manager did say initially that a new...
Update: Having replaced all the injectors and the IP (a couple of times) the shop brought in a tech directly from Mitsubishi. He concluded our truck needs a replacement engine computer. The shop has not been able to find either a new or used computer. Does anyone have a source for a new or...
Started having IP problems in our 99FG last April. Initially hard to start and no rev above 1800 rpm's but then quickly progressing to no start. Having no good place to work on it I took it to our local (former) Fuso dealer and it's been in their shop since April (it's now almost December)...
No, but fuel seemed to be flowing adequately as the primer pump was solid. I drove it to the storage lot and it was running just fine so it seems highly unlikely that any filter plugged while sitting. Not sure if low fuel flow would trigger a Code 22. Would low fuel flow trigger any code?
Had the truck towed to Mountain Truck and Equipment in Longmont, CO. They used to be a Fuso dealer and have worked on the truck in the past--rebuilt the transmission. Probably take a couple of weeks to get a clear diagnosis but hopefully they still have the old Fuso software and can get more...
That's exactly what I thought and why I removed the back cover off the governor thinking the fuel shut off portion wasn't sliding. But it turned out it was sliding. It could be something sticking on the other end but it's not accessible without disassembling the pump.
Thanks for the input. I've concluded the problem is internal to the pump. My shop manual does not list a code 22 for some reason but someone on the Mitsubishi Canter Facebook page screenshot a list of trouble codes this morning and 22 is the rack position sensor. I'm going to contact the...
