It's a good question and reasonable to ask. The main issue is leverage. The longer the lever arm to more stress at the fulcrum and especially with composite materials stress points can fail over time. We have to stay well within limits of how much stress the materials can handle over time in...
The camper is approximately 750-800 lb, net weight gain on the truck is approximately 450-500lb. Total truck weight as it sits is 5100 lbs or just under.
