Question for you express folk. A couple years back I "graduated" from an AWD Astro to an AWD Express (to which I added a Fiberene high top).
One thing I really miss about the Astro is the "hatch" that gives some sun and weather protection at the rear doors.
So, naturally I think about a rear...
Interesting stuff I tried to check out some stuff on your website but the animations, oh the animations. I can't move my hand without stuff popping up changing color etc. At 40 this makes me feel so old. Chill out the website and let people see what you're actually selling.
I put a cheap 12v LED puck with and a simple switch on the top of the hatch in my Astro Van. I think I paid like $20 total for the puck and switch. Best $20 mod ever. Wired it to my house battery with simple tiny wires. It isn't super bright or fancy but, honestly, it is frequently brighter than...
Awesome progress!
Since I'm about to send in my deposit to fiberine....I have a favor/question. Can you please tell me the interior height at the rear axle?
I want to get started on the planning/fab of the bed platform etc. and have to figure out how big of a "garage" I can reasonably...
Have to chime in here as I'm surprised at the dismissal of the Astro. I've got 70k adventure miles (van has over 250k total on original engine, trans and driveline) on my 03 Astro with AWD. I have added 2" lift shackles and some helper springs to the rear and mildly cranked the front torsion...
Once you get the AT tires on let us know about mpg etc. I always wonder if these little utes suffer more mpg from the addition of such things as tires, roof racks, weight etc. as their larger brethren.
So, I feel kind of stupid for asking this question but after reading through all the lifting options I'm unclear on one element. When adding the #22-907 92-99 Suburban springs you mention that 1 7/8" is added from the spring thickness along. You also mention that the spring arch is similar but...
Awesome!
Let me know if you can reinstall your airbags. I pulled my headliner to look at the airbag details and it appeared (from just eyeballing) that the 5" of roof fibreine leaves behind would be more than sufficient to avoid any interference. I'm getting ready to send my check for a high...
Hey all been lurking on the Express AWD threads for a long time. I finally promoted myself, and huskies, from an Astro into a 2012 AWD Express. Plan is get the high roof installed sooner than later. Thinking Fiberine 24" Bubble top. You all still liking it?
One question I have is whether you...
Keep us posted on the airbag issue. I'm currently trying to decide between a high roof econoline, high roof sprinter and an awd chevy. I really want the awd chevy but also really want a high roof. I'd like to keep the curtain airbags if at all possible because they are known for helping keep...
You can get nokian rotiivas through discount tire direct (online store) now at a pretty fair price. Not a true winter tire but you know nokian builds more winter capabilities into their "all weather" models than most. That probably the route I'd go if you want a decent tire that isn't a full...
I bought one of these from Johny5. Just wanted to say that he's a great guy and the bases looks great. Started installing it last night and will finish tonight.
Thanks Johny. Pleasure doing business. Enjoy the travels!
