I think a hard lid is the way to go, it gives you that added security being able to lock it.
I use my trailer for work and being able to lock up tools is an added bonus.

I got new switches as well, so they would light up the writing when I turn the lights on and the icon when I turn the switch on. Couldn't see the standard switches as night.

It's not finished yet, the floor has to go in, aluminium tread plate on the corner guards, twin fuel cans on the rear corners and I am working on a hard lid at the moment.
A spare tyre will be mounted between the nose box and the trailer body and a windcheeter rack will be mounted to the lid...
