    Fibrobec Spacekap Information Resources

Fibrobec Spacekap I wanted to make a thread dedicated to Spacekap info. These are very cool fiberglass truck tops, and I was in the market for something like this when I discovered them on craigslist. I finally bought one to fix up and build into a part time camper, but leading up to that, I...

    Expedition Truck Caps

this is a new enough thread to drop a reply to I hope, but on this same topic I was looking for a good option that allows for customization without having to deal with little things to make a regular cap feel complete, along with the pain of trying to figure out if a cap is compatible with my...

Overland/cross country vehicle: Lexus RX400h Hybrid

nothing to note. It is my daily driver and approaching 180k miles now. It has been trouble free in the 45k miles I've put on it. Doing front pads and rotors soon as I get some free time. Tires are wearing very well in my opinion, and I won't hesitate to get the same ones next time. Any questions...

Overland/cross country vehicle: Lexus RX400h Hybrid

true, though it has an extra foot of wheelbase and .4" less of ground clearance. If that isn't a problem, definitely a lot more interior room!

Actually, mine look just like the ones in the link only orange. Mine do not unfold, but I think they connect together to make a longer single rather than 2 short ones.

Adding 20A circuit for inverter, what can I power, and batteries?

Good point on the voltage drop. I will see what I find for wiring. If anything, I can run a thicker wire from the drivers foot well to the rear cargo area, once I find the circuit in the vehicle.

Probably from where they shouldn't. I'm grateful for all the storage this thing has. I loaded it for my trip to vermont, but I think I am going to leave it stocked like this full time. Nothing in there is too heavy to worry about. Better safe than sorry. Power inverter held in place with...

Adding 20A circuit for inverter, what can I power, and batteries?

Thanks! Yes, I agree. I stated wanting to use about 200w, which with the vehicle running, should be just under 15A.

Adding 20A circuit for inverter, what can I power, and batteries?

good eye. I have noticed the 100/120w limitation listed, but I can only guess that is due to the inverters limits/losses. The circuit is on a 20A fuse, so the entire circuit must be able to handle 20A. In my original post I posted the diagram, but I cut it down to isolate the inverter circuit...

Adding 20A circuit for inverter, what can I power, and batteries?

thanks for the response. I will give it a go and see what happens. I'm having some doubts about whether or not all the wiring is present, but I will look into that tomorrow. Here you can see the area I have free if I go the battery route:
